..that fortitude in her eyes

A girl deeply in love..

Happy a day in her imaginations and expectations
Flummoxed and hurt the next

Trying to catch the pinnacle of her happiness
But all she grabs is a sense of dubiousness

Lazy lying under the shade
Wandering from one thought to another
She still tries to gather her guts
Mystified by the puzzle of her love
I watch her gaze in the void..

Stammering to let her feelings out
Baffled about her own unspoken words of disgrace
I see her in dismay

Some think this  is a mistake again and all in vain
Don't they know??For her it's not!!
For there's nothing to lose by doing whatever you can
Than staying with regrets,she believes

And yet disappointments everyday
But  she is that girl who is still with all of it
Still with that fortitude in her eyes!

It happens like this..

One day you meet someone and for some inexplicable reason,you feel more connected to this stranger than anyone else--closer to them than your closest family.Perhaps this person carries within them an angel--one sent to you for some higher purpose.To teach you an important lesson or to keep you safe during a perilous time.What you must do is trust in them.Even if they come hand in hand with pain and suffering--the reason for their presence will become clear in due time.
Though here is a word of warning--you may grow to love this person but remember they are not yours to keep.Their purpose isn't to save you but to show you how to save yourself..and once this is fulfilled, the halo lifts and the angel leaves their body as the person exits your life.They will be a stranger to you once more.

Vengeance

Your icy voice put out the stars..
it cracked my heart and broke it in splinters,,
your tone as cold as Colorado winters..
but I promise to soon forget
the contract we almost made...
you'll feel the swift response of an equal as the dream begins to fade
I'll drown you in pseudo kindness
and a casual friendly glance
I can almost imagine your blindness
as I watch and wait
for the chance
to suddenly- cruelly-make you know
how easy it was to let you go...

Silence

She wanted to write about something other than love.Yet her free thinking pen seemed more adhered to her heart than to her head--a battle she never felt worth fighting!
Once again.. she wanted to write to him..Tell him she was glad he was back,that he was alive,that he was home and safe.But words to him no longer fit right in her mouth.Words which belonged in his ownership were no longer hers to give..
Silence was the only acceptable state her heart would grant.He would never know what he missed, because she refused to be heard in his presence. All the words he could have had, all the phrases he might have danced with..The smile which would have been imprinted upon his heart,would never be..And his lips would never be able to reply to the words she could not say..

Gone..

..Then the wind cried the shrill sound and it was time for him to go.He was just a mere spark that stayed for an instance, shared himself to wick my candle and another second he was gone--gone far away into a distant land, where he couldn't hold me by the hand or half turn back as I called back to stay.

All that was left for me now is to grieve for the vestige of thoughts of love we once had, the wonderful memoirs of togetherness and his way of showing his love for me and all I can say for  those times is - "It was love and it is love with or without you"
